I expect the security around space elevators to be much more stringent than it is at airports, given the relative scarcities of space elevators and airplanes. Expect to be scanned, etc. Don't worry about taking personal items on board, as your $200,000 fare (but that's return!) will include a fine selection of useful items such as a small bag of peanuts and a can of Pepsi (The Choice of a Space Generation).
